Steinert Marching Unit Uniform Cleaning Guide

Each Unit member is responsible for the proper care and maintenance of the uniform and its parts so that it can be returned in good condition upon the completion of the school year.

ALONG WITH REGULAR SEASON CLEANING, ALL UNIFORMS INCLUDING RAINCOATS MUST BE CLEANED AFTER THE THANKSGIVING GAME, AND MEMORIAL DAY PARADE!!!

PLEASE FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING CLEANING GUIDELINES

BAND UNIFORMS:

Please keep uniforms wrinkle, stain, and odor free.
*JACKET:
Dry clean or cold water machine wash. GENTLE CYCLE, NO softeners, and NO bleach based detergents!!!
 HANG DRY IMMEDIATELY; DO NOT IRON DIRECTLY ON MATERIAL!!!
*Stains on the jacket (especially on the neckline and white material) do not come out well with dry cleaning. These come out best with machine washing.
JUMPSUIT:
  Dry clean or cold water machine wash.  GENTLE CYCLE, NO softeners, and NO bleach based detergents!!! HANG DRY IMMEDIATELY; DO NOT IRON DIRECTLY ON MATERIAL!!!
GAUNTLETS: Mr.Clean eraser or mild soap/water. Use toothbrush on wrists.
GLOVES: Machine washable, may be bleached or soaked in Oxi clean to whiten.
SHAKO: Use toothbrush with diluted mild soap or Woolite; AIR DRY ONLY!!!
SHOES:
Wipe clean with damp cloth.
RAINCOAT: Machine wash/cold--delicate cycle. Tumble dry for 10 minutes to remove wrinkles, then hang dry to be sure it is very dry before storing, may be Dry Cleaned.

NEVER STORE WET OR DAMP UNIFORMS IN GARMENT BAGS!!!

COLOR GUARD UNIFORMS:

Please keep uniforms wrinkle, stain, and odor free.
TUNIC:
Hand or machine wash inside out/cold water/hang to dry.
RAINCOAT: Machine wash/cold--delicate cycle. Tumble dry for 10 minutes to remove wrinkles, then hang dry to be sure it is very dry before storing, may be Dry C leaned.
SHOES: Wipe down with damp cloth.

DRUM MAJOR UNIFORMS:

Please keep uniforms wrinkle, stain, and odor free.
*JACKET:
  Dry clean or cold water machine wash. GENTLE CYCLE, NO softeners, and NO bleach based detergents!!! HANG DRY IMMEDIATELY; DO NOT IRON DIRECTLY ON MATERIAL!!! 
*WHITE SKIRT/PANTS: Dry clean or cold water machine wash.  GENTLE CYCLE, NO softeners, and NO bleach based detergents!!! HANG DRY IMMEDIATELY; DO NOT IRON DIRECTLY ON MATERIAL!!!
*Stains on the jacket (especially on the neckline and white material) and white skirt/pants do not come out well with dry cleaning. These come out best with machine washing.
